Regarded by many locals as South Beach's hottest dance club, Opium Garden gives trend-setters the chance to party inside or out. First, however, you'll have to posture a bit to get past the club's discriminating velvet rope, which remains fairly taut during Miami's peak season. It's then that a who's-who of starlets, music industry moguls and pro athletes (entourage in tow) gain access with a nod to the doorman and accompanying swagger. Chinese lanterns and golden Buddha statues showcase the club's Zen bent, and sensuous sound, lighting and fog set a dreamlike scene for beautiful people intent on partying till dawn.
